4 out of 5 stars Mic Stand only   March 7, 2010

This is well built and should last for a while.
It is fast to set up and holds its position.
Be very clear that it does not come with mic.

5 out of 5 stars Pretty Awesome   February 28, 2010

Very solid, does exactly what I need it to do. Great for guitar players since it creates space between you and the stand. On a side note, you will need to purchase a mic clip separately. Cheers.

5 out of 5 stars I like this stand   February 2, 2010

I'm using this stand for doing some podcasting, so having a boom mic stand is ideal. The boom keeps the mic close but the stand out of the way of the computer desk. Since I don't keep it set up all the time, and I've traveled with it a little, the tripod legs work great for me.

4 out of 5 stars Good quality, good price   December 28, 2009

I don't think these are rugged enough to take on the road but for the serious home studio musician, these are just fine. Base is stable, sliding parts do so smoothly, screw clamps hold fast, boom will hold an AT2021 securely at full extension. I knock off one star only because the cable clips (holds the mic cable to the stand) are easily broken - not a big deal, I prefer velcro ties for this anyhow.

I use these with Audio Technica AT2041SP Studio Pack (AT2020 + AT2021) for vocal and acoustic guitar channel inputs for a Korg D888.

5 out of 5 stars Rock on; One of the best on Amazon!   October 13, 2009

For the price, you can not beat this Mic Stand. I actually bought it for two reasons; #1, I play electric guitar and needed to upgrade a stand I got 7 years ago from my grandmother. The second reason is because I play guitar hero and like to sing and play at the same time.

My old stand was plastic, hard to adjust, and just a piece of junk. This stand is metal, very easy to adjust, and just top-notch in every way. I have never owned a more expensive Mic Stand so I do not know what other qualities that one might look for. I just know that THIS stand is everything I could have asked for and for the price, it really looks and feels like a professional piece of machinery.

AND THE PRICE?? This stand would is the equivalent of going to McDonalds and ordering a Big Mac, but instead, you're given a 12 oz. steak with a little A1 steak sauce on the side and a side of mashed potatoes.

You really can't beat it. The only thing is- it does not come with a "MIC CLAMP" - something you need to attach your actual microphone to your stand. You'll need to buy one of those suckers before you can really use this. I did not buy that right away though and some of my girlfriend's hair ties did the trick without any issues. Being creative is sometimes more fun anyways. But maybe, if I was more creative, instead of using a Mic Stand in the first place, I could have strung my microphone from the light fixtures. I think that the company coming to visit likes the idea of having a mic stand much more.

Happy Shopping. This product is approved by me.
